Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
Wednesday morning's scheduled contest between the Swing of the Quad Cities and the Peoria Chiefs has been postponed due to heavy overnight rains and predicted cold temperatures. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Thursday, with first pitch scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
The postponement delays Ryne Sandberg's first trip to John O'Donnell Stadium, as the Hall of Fame second baseman and Peoria Chiefs manager embarks on his first season with the Cubs' affiliate. He leads a Peoria team that is 3-0 through their first two series' of the year.
Sandberg's schedule press conference for Thursday afternoon has been moved up to 2:45 p.m. in the afternoon.
Thursday's doubleheader will consist of two seven-inning ballgames with a 30-minute break in between. This is the second doubleheader for Quad Cities this season, as they split their first twin bill on Saturday in Clinton.
Tickets for Wednesday's game will be honored at any future Swing home game this season.
