RailHawks Post Important Win against 2007 USL-1 Champion Seattle Sounders 2-1

Cary, NC (Wednesday, May 28th, 2008) - The Carolina RailHawks edged the 2007 USL-1 Champion Seattle Sounders 2-1 on Wednesday night in a match that saw all of the scoring happen in the first half and the RailHawks defeat the Sounders for the first time. RailHawks forward Connally Edozien opened the dances early in the 9th minute after receiving a ball from Martin Nuñez and flicking it in over Seattle goalkeeper Chris Eylander to find the back of the net. The sounders tied it up in the 14th minute with a penalty kick taken by Sebastien LeToux only to see one of their own, Noah Merl, score an own goal at the end of the first half in the 45th minute. These important three points now put the RailHawks in a tie for second place in the USL-1 standings with 13 points.

The Carolina RailHawks are on the road this Saturday, May 31st in Atlanta against the Silverbacks and, like all RailHawks away games, it can be seen on www.USLLive.com. Their next home game will be on Tuesday June 10th at WakeMed Soccer Park at 7:30 PM against the Brooklyn Knights in the first round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. The Carolina RailHawks Women's next home game will be Friday, June 7th at 7:30 PM at WakeMed Soccer Park as they host the Bradenton Athletics.
