Bass and McEachron Players of the Week

TAMPA, FL - United Soccer Leagues announced the USL First Division and USL Second Division Team of the Week honors Tuesday for Week 6 of the season, honoring Minnesota's Jeremiah Bass and Richmond's Trevor McEachron as the Players of the Week, respectively.
After three years of dwelling at or near the bottom of the table, the former three-time league finalists have reclaimed their position among the league leaders, moving to second Saturday with a 3-1 victory at home over the Miami FC Blues. At 4-2-1, the club is one victory away from last year's total number of wins.
Midfielder Jeremiah Bass contributed offensively and defensively in the match to guide the Thunder upward momentum.
On a free kick just a few yards away from the penalty box, the ball got out of goalkeeper Nic Platter's reach, but Jeremiah Bass was there to stop the goal. Bass kicked it out of danger, keeping the Thunder away from a very dangerous possession.
The Thunder's second goal of the game came in the 34th minute when Ricardo Sanchez took a Thunder corner kick. Bass headed the ball in the back of the net, scoring his first goal for the Thunder this season.
In the 40th minute, the Thunder finished their scoring with Sanchez earning his second Thunder goal of the campaign. Bass crossed the ball past the goal to Sanchez who hit a dangerous first touch ball into the back of the net for a commanding 3-0 advantage.
Patrick Nyazamba scored a beauty of a goal for the Richmond Kickers, but it was perhaps the defense led by the efforts of Trevor McEachron that was the highlight of the match, shutting out the highest scoring team in the league so that the lone Richmond strike could hand the Charlotte Eagles their first loss, 1-0, and shutout.
McEachron was responsible for two potential goal-saving stops in the game. A Dustin Swinehart free kick in the 27th was punched away by Ronnie Pascale, but the effort was sent off the crossbar and was heading back down in the goal when McEachron cleared it off the line before it crossed over.
With about 10 minutes remaining in the match, a scramble in the box saw a dangerous attempt from 12 yards blocked by McEachron to keep the Kickers in front, avenging their early season 3-0 loss in Charlotte.
