Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release
GARY, IN - The Gary South Shore RailCats announced today they traded outfielder Tillman Pugh to the Schaumbug Boomers of the Frontier League for a player to be named later. The Boomers and RailCats are both owned by Salvi Sports Enterprises.
Pugh, in his second season as a RailCat, was hitting .232 in 56 games with Gary SouthShore. The Californian totaled 46 hits over 198 at bats that included five doubles and eight home runs. He was tied for the team high in homers and was first in stolen bases (11).
The right-hander was released on July 25th as he battled a lingering hip injury. He was resigned on August 4th and played in six games before the trade. In those games he went 4-21 with two RBI.
Pugh played for the RailCats for 32 games in 2015 before being traded to the Winnipeg Goldeyes. He hit .240 with one homer and seven stolen bases last year for the RailCats. The 27 year-old was a 15th round pick of the New York Mets in 2010 out of Sonoma State University.
The RailCats are 38-38 on the season and stand 2.5 games out of first place in the American Association's Central Division. For more information on Gary South Shore RailCats tickets and Group Outing information call 219-882-2255 or visit www.railcatsbaseball.com .
