Texas AirHogs News Release

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The AirHogs fell to the Laredo Lemurs 4-1 Wednesday at AirHogs Stadium. Juan Sanchez picked up an RBI on his 4th triple of the year, but the AirHogs could not salvage the 3rd of the 3-game set.

AirHogs starter Derek Callahan surrendered 2 runs on 5 hits before turning the ball over to Tyler Harris and the rest of the bullpen in the 3rd. Harris, Tyler Ihrig, Cody Culp, Trey Masek and Alan Oaks would hold the Lemurs to just 1 earned run the rest of the way. Oaks fired a 1-2-3 top half of the 9th to notch his 15th straight scoreless appearance.

The AirHogs got on the board in the 6th on a 2-out infield base hit by Leon Byrd that was followed by an RBI triple by Juan Sanchez. The RBI was the 37th of the season for Sanchez, and the triple was his 4th, a team-high. The shot down the right field line off Laredo starter Troy Marks cut the Lemurs' lead to 2-1.

Laredo got to Culp for a run on 3 hits in the 7th to inflate the advantage to 3-1 and then capitalized on 2 errors in the 8th to score against Masek. Marks earned the W in the contest, his 5th of the season, by allowing just 1 run over six frames. Luis De La Cruz earned his 3rd save by pitching a scoreless 9th. Callahan absorbed his 2nd loss.

The AirHogs (27-49) meet the Joplin Blasters (26-49) to open a 4-game set at AirHogs Stadium tomorrow at 7:05. RHP Cody Hebner is expected to start for the AirHogs.
