GARY, Ind. - The Gary SouthShore RailCats are in the Northern League Championship Series for the fifth year in a row, and when the âCats come home for Game Three Friday night at 7 p.m., there will be several great giveaways for fans of all ages at U. S. Steel Yard.
Tickets are on sale now for Friday night's pivotal game three, and can be purchased by visiting www.railcatsbaseball.com, calling 219.882.2255 or stopping by the U. S. Steel Yard Box Office from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The RailCats drew 3,115 fans last Friday to Game Three of the Northern League Semifinals against the Kansas City T-Bones last Friday, the third-largest playoff crowd in club history, and expect even more this Friday for the final round.
Along with the great baseball Friday night, the RailCats are offering a number of outstanding deals for fans, especially hungry ones. The first 1,500 fans through the gates Friday night will get a voucher for a Free Red Hot Chicago Hot Dog, courtesy Aramark. If that's not enough, the first 1,000 fans will also pick up a Free Collectable "Tradition of Excellence" Poster, commemorating the RailCats fifth trip in a row to the League Championship Series.
The RailCats haven't forgotten about the youngsters either, as the first 300 kids - age 12 and under - at Friday night's game will pick up a Free Logo Baseball, courtesy Indiana University-Northwest. Then after the game, fans of all ages can take in a Post-Game Fireworks Spectacular, sponsored by First Midwest Bank and the Post-Tribune.
Groups of 20 or more fans can also be a part in the savings Friday night, with the âCats bringing back their $650 suite and food package for the remainder of the series. For just $650, you'll get a night for up to 20 in a posh luxury suite, four VIP parking passes, 24 hot dogs, 24 hamburgers, kettle chips, 24 cans of soda (Pepsi products), 24 cans of MGD & Miller Lite and 24 jumbo cookies.
Larger groups won't be left out either, as for a $300 savings the RailCats are offering 75 fans a night in a party deck AND all-you-can-eat food! For a total price of $1,950, get tickets for 75 to one of the âCats two Party Decks on the suite level and great ballpark food all night long, at a discount price of just $26/person.
The âCats and Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks will meet in the league's final series for the third time in the last five seasons, and after games one and two Tuesday and Wednesday night in North Dakota, the series will finish in Northwest Indiana. If necessary, the series will continue Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. The first team to win three times in the best-of-five series will be crowned the 2009 Northern League Champion.
