GARY, Ind. - The Gary SouthShore RailCats want to kick off their upcoming holiday weekend early and offer fans the perfect excuse to skip work.
On Thursday, July 2, the RailCats will present their second "Thirsty Thursday" of 2009 at U. S. Steel Yard. Fans aged 21 and older can enjoy $2 MGD and Miller Lite drafts, sponsored by North Coast Distributing and X-Rock 103.9 FM.
This particular Thursday will feature a special 2 p.m. start and will introduce the RailCats Businessperson's Special where fans can receive a free ticket with the purchase of a regular priced ticket if they bring a note from their boss. A RailCats jersey will be awarded to the fan with the most creative excuse.
Along with the great drink specials and ticket deals, the RailCats will feature their second of three money giveaways presented by NIEMI Associates. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive an envelope containing cash. Five fans will be given $100 each, six fans will receive $50, nine fans collect $20, and ten envelopes will contain $5, while the remaining 970 envelopes will have a dollar each inside. Gates open at 1 p.m. when the RailCats battle the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.
