LAST TIME OUT: Daniel Vernace scored the game-winning goal with 28 seconds remaining in regulation and the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs defeated the Knoxville Ice Bears, 3-2, Friday night at the Berglund Center. Ryan de Melo stopped 34 of 36 pucks in the victory and Roanoke defeated Knoxville for the first time in seven meetings this season.

THE OTHER GUYS: The Havoc enter Saturday alone in first place in the SPHL with 45 points, five clear of the second-place Macon Mayhem. Huntsville owns the most prolific goal-scoring offense in the league, averaging four goals per game. In four meetings this season, all of which have taken place in Roanoke, the Rail Yard Dawgs have gone 0-3-1 against the Havoc. Saturday marks the first of two that the Dawgs will play in Alabama this season.

MASSIMO MEANS 'THE GREATEST': Massimo Lamacchia notched a pair of assists during Friday's win over Knoxville and now has points in six straight and seven of his last eight games. Lamacchia has 11 points (1 G, 10 A) over the six-game point streak and on Friday passed Tyler Gjurich for the team scoring lead. His six-game streak is tied for the second longest by a Rail Yard Dawg this season. Jackson Brewer owns the longest point streak of the season (eight games).

WE'RE GOING STREAKING: Roanoke's 3-2 victory over Knoxville on Friday represented the fourth-straight game during which the Dawgs picked up points. That matches a season-long for the Rail Yard Dawgs, as they previously had points in four-straight from 10/28-11/5.

DOWNRIGHT OFFENSIVE: The Havoc employ the SPHL's two leading point-getters (Sy Nutkevitch - 31 points, Johnny Daniels - 30 points) as well as five of the league's top ten. Huntsville has scored 19 more goals than any other team in the SPHL

NOT SO MELO IN NET: Ryan de Melo made 34 saves during Friday's 3-2 win over Knoxville, the sixth time in his last seven games that he has had 30 saves or more. In James Kruger's last game he stopped 50 pucks, a Rail Yard Dawgs season high.

NEW-FOUND OFFENSE: Nick Schneider picked up an assist on Friday and extended his point streak to six games. Schneider is third on the team in scoring with 20 points (4 G, 16 A) and his four goals are a new professional career high. Through 27 games, the 32-year old is three points shy of his career-high in points. He set it in 2014-15 when he had 23 points (2 G, 21 A) in 52 games for Peoria.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: Beginning with Saturday's game in Huntsville, the Rail Yard Dawgs will play six of their next seven games on the road. Roanoke is 2-5-2 on the road this season and nine road games is the fewest of any SPHL team

UP NEXT: The Rail Yard Dawgs will return to the Roanoke Valley for their first Sunday matinee game of the season. Puck drop at the Berglund Center against the Columbus Cottonmouths is scheduled for 3:05 PM.
