LAST TIME OUT: The Rail Yard Dawgs jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to a pair of second period goals from Colin Murray and Jordan Carvalho but could not hold that lead as they were defeated by the Fayetteville Marksmen, 4-2, Thanksgiving night at Berglund Center.

THE OTHER GUYS: Huntsville is the defending President's Cup Champion; it defeated Peoria in the 2018 final, two games to one. The Havoc finished the 2017-18 regular season as the fourth seed in the SPHL with a 30-16-10 record and beat Mississippi, Macon and Peoria en route to the second championship in franchise history. The Rail Yard Dawgs faced the Havoc four times in the 2017-18 regular season and went 3-1-0.

IR SWAP: The Rail Yard Dawgs activated forward Jesse Schwartz off injured reserve on Monday but placed forward Maxime Guyon on IR as a counter move. Schwartz missed the last seven games after being placed on IR on October 22. Guyon has appeared in eight games and leads the Dawgs in points with 12 on four goals and eight assists.

MORE TINKERING: Roanoke added a new player to its roster on Sunday when it acquired defenseman Alex Adams from the Knoxville Ice Bears for future considerations. He made his Dawgs debut in the 4-2 loss to Fayetteville on Thanksgiving. Adams had appeared in one game with ECHL Maine and four with Knoxville before joining the Rail Yard Dawgs. He also played 15 games for the Ice Bears in the 2017-18 season and had four goals and six assists.

THE SEASON SERIES: The Dawgs and Havoc will play each other four times this season with three of those games taking place in Roanoke. Friday night's game represents the only trip the Rail Yard Dawgs will make to Huntsville and the Von Braun Center this season.

HE'S HOT: Colin Murray scored in the second period on Thursday night and now has points in six of his last seven games. Murray is second on the team with ten points (5 G, 5 A) in nine games and his five goals lead the team.

BACK TO FULL STRENGTH: Roanoke played a man short on Thursday night thanks to a one game suspension issued to Eric Witzel following a boarding penalty last weekend in Fayetteville. With Witzel's suspension served, the Dawgs full be back to a full roster of 16 skaters and two goaltenders dressed on Friday night.

UP NEXT: The Dawgs and Havoc will each load the bus following Friday night's game and race back to Roanoke before they face each other again on Saturday night at Berglund Center. It's Capitals Night in Roanoke and the team will be wearing special Caps themed jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
