
Rail Yard Dawgs Fall in Knoxville, 10-0

Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs News Release
KNOXVILLE, TN - The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs were shut out for the first time this season as they were defeated by the Knoxville Ice Bears, 10-0, Saturday night at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum.
Knoxville scored the only goal of the first period just 53 seconds in when Lawrence Cornellier beat Brad Barone with a wrist shot through traffic. The Ice Bears ran away with the game in the second. David Brancik and Danny Cesarz both scored to bookend a natural hat trick from Berkley Scott and the Ice Bears took at 6-0 lead into the second intermission.
The Ice Bears kept the pressure up in the third as Garret Clemment, Marcus Ortiz, Scott and Cesarz each scored to push it to the 10-0 final. Knoxville outshot Roanoke, 42-26, in the game.
Five of the Ice Bears goals went against the ledger of Barone while Matt Zenzola also allowed five goals in relief. Scott finished with four goals to pace the Knoxville offense.
Roanoke fell to 10-17-3 in the loss while Knoxville improved to 17-11-2.
