
Raiders spoil Chiefs' return home

The Spokane Chiefs returned to the Arena for the first time in two weeks and dropped a 5-3 decision to the visiting Prince Albert Raiders. The game is the first of nine out of ten at home for the Chiefs.
Spokane scored on their first two power play opportunities and had a 2-0 lead after one. Brad Schell and Chad Klassen scored for Spokane as Jakub Langhammer assisted on both goals.
In the second, Prince Albert pulled within one on a penalty shot at 7:44 by Seth Leonard. The game was tied at 17:00 by Michal Polak.
The Chiefs took a 3-2 lead going into the third when Ned Lukacevic burried a rebound from the right circle at 18:56 for Spokane's third power play goal of the night.
Prince Albert started their come back at 3:22 and scored the eventual game winner at 10:53. The final score was tallied at 15:30.
Spokane was 3-9 on the power play and 5-6 on the penalty kill.
Gerry Festa, making his first start at home as a Chief, made 31 saves, including 15 in the first period.
Spokane is back at home on Sunday afternoon when they host the Kootenay Ice at 4:00. Gates will open at 3:00 for Kids Day and Skate with the Chiefs. Following the game fans will have the opporunity to skate with the Chiefs on the Arena ice. A limited amount of skate will be available for fans to borrow. Fans are encouraged to bring their skates.
