Prince Albert Raiders News Release

Edmonton, AB - Playing the final contest of a five-game stretch away from home, the Prince Albert Raiders fell 2-1 in a tight special teams battle against the Edmonton Oil Kings on Tuesday night at Rexall Place.

The Raiders deposited their lone goal of the game at the 10:04 mark of the second period when Reid Gardiner wired a shot over the shoulder of the Edmonton netminder on the power play.

Edmonton opened the scoring on their fourth man advantage of the opening frame when Brett Pollock connected on a nice passing play. The Oil Kings netted the game-winning goal halfway through the third period on fortunate deflection to the side of the net where Colton Kehler fired a shot top shelf.

Rylan Parenteau made his third consecutive start in the Raider net and turned away 27 of 29 shots, while Oil Kings puck stopper Patrick Dea made 26 saves on 27 attempts.

The Oil Kings outshot the Raiders 29-27. Prince Albert went 1-for-4 on the power play, while Edmonton was 2-for-5.

The Raiders conclude their road trip with a 3-2-0-0 record and make the trip back home with an 18-9-2-1 mark. The Oil Kings prevail for the fifth game in a row and improve to 13-14-3-0.
