Prince Albert Raiders News Release

The Prince Albert Raiders have traded 2003-born defenceman Tayem Gislason and a conditional fifth round pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft to the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for 2004-born forward Carter Anderson.

Gislason, entering his third WHL season, joined the Raiders in the bubble in the 2020-21 regular season, playing 23 of the team's 24 games. He scored his first career goal against the Saskatoon Blades on December 18, 2021, and has registered three goals and 12 assists in 93 career games. The 19-year-old was originally drafted by the Raiders in the sixth round (119th overall) in the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft.

Anderson, also entering his third WHL season, has reverse stats from Gislason. The center has 12 goals and three assists in 84 career games. Through five games so far this season, Anderson has three goals and a +4 rating. The 18-year-old was drafted into the WHL by the Rebels in the third round (51st overall) in the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft.

"Carter is a good young player who plays with a lot of speed and compete," Raiders general manager Curtis Hunt said. "He's had a really good start to the season, and we feel he can help support us down the middle of the ice."
