Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

Brandon, MB - The Brandon Wheat Kings have dealt forward Riley Ginnell('02) to the Moose Jaw Warriors, in exchange for a 2024 5th round Prospects Draft pick.

Ginnell, was acquired by the Wheat Kings in September 2019 from the Kamloops Blazers for a 6th round pick. The Calgary native played 113 games in the black and gold, scoring 21 times and added 26 assists for 47 points.

"The move today gets us to the league required (3) 20 year olds. I think it was time for the players involved, coaching staff and our group to have this situation resolved," said Wheat Kings General Manager Marty Murray. "It's only natural that carrying an extra 20 year old weighs on the guys and I think to finalize the situation, gives everyone some closure and the ability to move forward with the group we have."

The Brandon Wheat Kings organization wants to wish Riley all the best with his new club.

6 and 12 game Flex packs are on sale now. Get a great rate on the most popular Wheat Kings promotional nights including Teddy Bear Toss, Willy's Birthday & More. Visit our website for more info.
