Edmonton Elks News Release
(Edmonton) After Edmonton's 40-34 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and another play-off appearance wrapped up, Eskimo defensive lineman Rahim Abdullah has been named CFL Lineman of the Week for Week 19.
Abdullah picked up the award after his performance last Sunday when he recorded a tackle, a pass knockdown and an interception. Abdullah was a force to be reckoned with as the Eskimo defense pressured Winnipeg quarterback Kevin Glenn all afternoon. This is Abdullah's second Lineman of the Week award of his career. Last season, he received the accolade after chalking up four tackles and three sacks in a victory over Winnipeg in Week 18.
The Edmonton Eskimos hold North America's longest pro-sports consecutive play-off appearance record at 33 years. For more information on the Edmonton Eskimo Football Club, please visit our web site at www.esks.com.
