Rocky Mountain Rage News Release
Broomfield, Colo. - Just two weeks ago, the Rocky Mountain Rage finished a game with only 10 available skaters on the bench. Tonight, as the Rage play the first of a two-game set against the Arizona Sundogs at Broomfield Event Center, the club will have 15 skaters at the disposal of head coach Tracy Egeland for the second consecutive game.
Captain Dan Vandermeer (missed eight games) and defenseman Jordan Little (10 games) returned from injuries last night in a 6-3 loss to the New Mexico Scorpions. This evening veterans Dorian Anneck (15 games) and Kyle Kos (five games) make their return to the Rage line-up.
Tonight, though, the team will still skate one player short of a full line-up, something Rocky Mountain has not fielded since Dec. 13 - a span of 16 games.
To accommodate the sudden influx of healthy bodies, the Rage were forced to release defensemen Preston Briggs (14 GP, 10 PIM) and Tom Reimann (4 GP, 3 assists, 8 PIM).
Today the club also traded forward Nick Warriner to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in exchange for the rights to second-year defenseman Jeff Mushaluk, who played last season for Coach Egeland. Warriner totaled 15 points (7g-8a) in 36 games for Rocky Mountain and earned the distinction of scoring the first goal in Broomfield Event Center history during a 5-4 shootout win against the Tulsa Oilers on Nov. 10.
The Rage and Sundogs square-off this evening at 7:05 p.m. followed by tomorrow's series finale at 3:05 p.m. Tickets are still available for both contests with prices ranging from $15-$40 per seat. Tickets may be purchased online at www.BroomfieldEventCenter.com, by calling 303-410-TIXS, or at the Broomfield Event Center box office (11450 Broomfield Ln., Broomfield, 80021). Season tickets, mini-packs, and group plans are also available for the 2006-07 season by calling 303-439-RAGE. For more information, visit www.RockyMountainRage.com.
