Rafters Win 7-1, Split Series with La Crosse

La Crosse, Wis- The Rafters top the Loggers 7-6 Friday night at Copeland Park. Adam Hall picked up his second win of the season throwing five strong innings. Craig Pearcy (Morehead State) did a great job in the middle innings for the Rafters and Brian Bass (Faulkner) picked up his second save of the summer. Graham Spraker (Quincy University) took the loss for La Crosse. With the win the Rafters moved to 14-15 on the season while the Loggers fell to 17-14.

Brock Carpenter (Seattle) had another great day at the plate, going three for four with his second home run of the summer. Mitchell McGeein (Eastern Michigan) hit his fifth home run of the summer which now has him tied for the Northwoods League lead. The two run blast put his RBI total at sixteen for the summer. Mason McCoy (Iowa) had another great game for the Loggers at the plate. His 3 hit ball game helped his batting average jump to .375 as he battles for the batting crown in the Northwoods League, which currently belongs to Rafters second baseman Zack Domingues (Long Beach State).

Wisconsin Rapids will head to Madison tomorrow for a weekend series with the Mallards. The Rafters then return home for a day-night doubleheader against the Eau Claire Express to conclude the first half of the Northwoods League 2015 season.
