Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Rafters hit the road today as they start a home and home series with the Green Bay Bullfrogs. Zach Kolodziejski (Niagara) will get the nod on the mound for Wisconsin Rapids. He will be opposed by right-handed pitcher Luke Crabb (Dodge City CC). First pitch is set for 6:35 PM.

The Rafters look to bounce back Monday, after they were unable to rally back against the Madison Mallards on Sunday. After surrendering five runs in the top of the first inning, the Mallards never looked back winning with a score of 11-2. The Mallards completed the two game sweep of Wisconsin Rapids and stayed atop the Northwoods League South division with a record of 5-0. Madison's Josh Pierce (Central Michigan) picked up the win, while John Jaeger (Pacific) took the loss for Wisconsin Rapids. Jake Sandlin (Georgia College) continues to see thee ball well, going 2-for-5 with a double yesterday while staying among the Northwoods League leaders batting average. Jack Riley (UConn) pitched well in relief, tossing four innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out five.

The Rafters return to Witter Field Tuesday with a three game home-stand on the horizon. They will Face Green Bay on Tuesday, before hosting the 2014 Northwoods League champions the Lakeshore Chinooks Wednesday and Thursday.
