Kenosha Kingfish News Release

Kalamazoo, MI. - The Kingfish let the Battle Creek Bombers sweep them in a two game series just a day prior. They would not let the Kalamazoo Growlers do the same, and came away with an utterly decisive victory in the first game of the series.

Josh Serio was sent to the mound for his second start of the year and did not disappoint, tossing six scoreless innings. The UW-Parkside student allowed only four hits and a walk while striking out nine. Ryne Blanton and Ryan Orr combined for three innings pitched while allowing just one run between them to finish out the game.

Offensively, the Kingfish had a whacky day to say the least. Their first two runs of the ball game came from a bases loaded walk and a bases loaded hit by pitch. Eric Filia later collected an RBI on a ground out and then Hunter Alexander followed with an RBI single.

From that point on, the Kingfish would never lose their stride.

Kingfish hitters would combine for ten runs on seven hits while picking up ten walks as well. Zach Ratcliff led the way hitting on the night going 2-4 as the Kingfish cruised to victory in game one of the two game series with a final score of 10-1. They will finish up their series tomorrow morning against the Growlers before heading off to Battle Creek.

The Kingfish ticket office powered by Platinum Systems is located at 7817 Sheridan Road and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
