Rafters Seek to Even Series with Mallards
June 5, 2016 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release
Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - It's opening week in the Northwoods League, presented by Edvest. In the first matchup of the season between the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (2-2) and Madison Mallards (5-0) last night, the Mallards won convincingly. Today, the Rafters will have another chance to try and hand the Ducks their first loss of the season.
John Jaeger (Sterling College) will get the nod for the Rafters on the mound as he looks to stifle the Mallards offense that produced 17 hits last night. This will be the 6-foot-2 inch righty's first start of the summer for the Rafters. Who the Mallards are set to counter with on the hill with is still yet to be determined.
After mustering up a mere 5 hits in their loss last night, the Rafters will try to get back on track at the plate. Today's game is the first 4:05 PM start time of the season, with gates opening at 3:05 PM.
