Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - Just a day after the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (3-3) mashed a franchise-record 22 hits in a 13-5 rout of the Madison Mallards (6-1), they look for a split in the four-game series. In the Rafters win, they handed the Mallards their first loss of the 2016 campaign and made up one game in the South Division standings.

On the mound tonight, homegrown pitcher Jay Peters (NR, UW-Milwaukee) will look to keep the Mallards offense in check in his second start for the Rafters. In Peters' first start of the year, he went a solid 6 innings while allowing just 2 runs on 6 hits.

Madison will counter with southpaw Patrick Boyle (1-0, Drew University). In his lone start this year, he went 5 innings while allowing only 1 run on 5 hits in a victory. Tonight will be a tough task for Boyle to shut down the red hot Rafter offense.

First pitch for the final game of the four-game series is slated for 6:35 PM at Warner Park. Tomorrow the Rafters will welcome in the BorderCats of Thunder Bay to town in the first of a two-game series.
