The two insurance runs came on a groundball up the middle by Ryan Cleveland (Georgia Southern). With a full count and two outs, the runners were moving on the pitch, Cleveland beat out the throw to first and Zack Domingues (Long Beach State) used his speed to score from second on the play, while Bryce Jordan (LSU) scored from 3rd. The Rafters bullpen was fantastic as well, with Justin Kelly (UC Santa Barbara) striking out five in two innings, Joey Graziano throwing a scoreless eighth, and Davitt slamming the door in the ninth.
