Honkers Squeeze out Win in Duluth
July 27, 2015 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Rochester Honkers News Release
The Rochester Honkers defeated the Duluth Huskies 7-6 Monday night in Duluth. Spencer Greer (Dixie State) earned the win for Rochester after allowing just one run in four innings of relief and Brac Warren (Oregon) picked up the save. Ryan Losman (Glendale College) was charged with the loss for Duluth.
Duluth took an early lead with two runs in the second inning but Joe DeRoche-Duffin(UCONN) hit a three run home-run, his tenth of the season, in the top of the fourth to put Rochester on top. That lead wouldn't last long though, as the Huskies plated three runs in the bottom of the inning to go up 5-3.
Alex Schultz (Nebraska-Omaha) would drive in William Paschal (Georgia Gwinnett) to pull the Honkers within one in the fifth, and Matt Fiedler (Minnesota) would score the tying run in the sixth on a groundout by Cole Krzmarzick (Nevada).
Duluth would take a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the sixth, but the Honkers would respond with two runs in the top of the seventh. Paschal would score on a hit by Schultz to tie it up at 6-6. Schultz would advance to third on an outfield error, and score the game-winning run on a single by Miles Mastrobuoni (College of San Mateo).
