
Rafters Host the Growlers in Homestand Opener

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Rafters return to Witter Field after a three-day road trip and off day for a three-game home stand. The cranberry and gold will face off against the Kalamazoo Growlers in a two game home series. The Growlers are 6-7 in the second half and 30-18 overall while the Rafters are 5-7 and 20-27 overall. This season the Rafters are 1-3 against the Growlers but won their last matchup.
On the mound for the Rafters is the Purdue junior, Gareth Stroh. Stroh is a 6'1" 200 lbs lefty. He sports a 3-1 record and a 2.64 ERA. He has struck out 26 batters and walked only nine in his 34 innings pitched. This will be Stroh's seventh start for Wisconsin Rapids.
Pitching for the Growlers is Kent State freshman Tyler Drabick. Drabick is a right-handed pitcher who sports a 1-0 record for Kalamazoo. He has a 3.60 record and only five innings pitched. In his time on the mound he has recorded one strikeout, two walks and six hits. This will be Drabick's second start for the Growlers.
The Rafters square off against the Growlers tomorrow, followed by a game against the Madison Mallards Thursday. All games are slated for 7:05 p.m.
