
Barrie Hits Sixth Home Run, Rox Comeback Falls Short

St. Cloud, MN - The 2017 Northwoods League Champions St. Cloud Rox opened up a four-game homestand on Tuesday night in St. Cloud.
Jack Barrie (Northwestern Ohio) belted his sixth home run of the season, but the Rox fell to the Honkers 6-2 at the Rock Pile.
St. Cloud made a late-game comeback attempt, scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth, but the Rox came up just short.
Barrie tallied his sixth home run to kick off the bottom of the ninth inning, finishing 1-for-3 with one RBI. Ryan Davis brought in the other run for the Rox, going 1-for-4 with one RBI. Ryland Kerr (Eastern Kentucky) recorded a multi-hit game for St. Cloud, finishing 2-for-4. Connor Aube (Texas at Arlington), Ricardo Sanchez (Arkansas at Pine Bluff) and Noah Hill (BYU)
Will Warren (Southeastern Louisiana) started the game on the hill for St. Cloud, throwing five shutout innings to take the no-decision. He gave up just three hits and struck out three. Hance Smith (California-Berkeley) and Joey Stock (St. John's) each threw shutout innings in relief for the Rox.
St. Cloud (7-6 second half, 23-26 overall) will continue on in its current homestand at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday against Rochester. The game will be Rox Replica Bus Bank Giveaway presented by Voigt's Bus. The first 250 fans 14 years old and under that enters the stadium will receive a Rox replica bus bank.
