Rockford Rivets News Release
Fond du Lac, Wis. - The Rockford Rivets (20-28) got the lead first but allowed 14 straight runs en route to 14-1 loss to the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders Tuesday night in Herr-Baker Field.
The first and only run of the day by the Rockford Rivets was scored by Parker Bates when Jacob Vander Wal grounded into a double play. Bright spots in the offense were the two hits from Hal Hughes and Parker Kelly.
Cooper Cain picked up the loss for the Rivets despite striking out seven and only allowing two earned runs. This adds to the impressive season by Cain, in which he was just announced the starter for the 2018 NWL all-star game next week in Kalamazoo.
The Rivets and Dock Spiders play again tomorrow at 6:35 PM at Herr-Baker Field.
