
Rafters Head to off Day, Close Season Series with Fondy

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (15-8) wrap up the season series against the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (11-12) as they chase a two-game sweep in a Sunday afternoon matchup.
The Rafters offense steamrolled Fond du Lac in game one on Saturday, racking up 15 runs on 19 hits on their way to a 15-10 victory. Jake Dunham and Roman Trujillo each had three RBIs in the game and Cody Turner struck out seven over four innings.
Nathan Hemmerling gets the start for Wisconsin Rapids, holding an impressive 6-1 record and a 1.70 ERA as a freshman this summer. He will likely square off against Aaron Funk from Arkansas - Little Rock. Funk is 1-1 with a 3.97 ERA this season.
The Rafters are 8-3 against the Dock Spiders this season and currently sit in first place in the Great Lakes West Division. With just 13 games remaining in the regular season, the Rafters hold a two-game lead on the Green Bay Booyah in the second-half standings.
Wisconsin Rapids has their second scheduled off day of the season Monday. When the Rafters return to Historic Witter Field on Tuesday for Mid-State Technical College Turn Back the Clock Night, featuring a Rafters Retro jersey auction to benefit the Mid-State Foundation. Fans are encouraged to wear red.
