Radio America Returns as D.C. United's Spanish-Language Radio Partner

CHANTILLY, VA (March 17, 2004) - D.C. United announced today that Radio America (WACA 1540 AM) has been named the club's official Spanish-language radio partner for the 2004 season, the seventh season the popular station will carry United matches. As part of the agreement, all 30 United regular season games will be broadcast live on Radio America, as well as on Radio Fiesta 1480 AM and Latino-Mix 1350 AM. Radio America can be heard over the Internet at www.radioamerica.net.

"We are very pleased to again partner with Radio America to create this unique partnership and expand our coverage of D.C. United broadcasts in the Washington metropolitan area and make our matches available to our Hispanic fans in their native language," said United President and CEO Kevin Payne.

Radio personality Danilo Noel Dirón, a native of Uruguay who hosts "La Mesa Redonda del Fútbol" (Round Table), a daily soccer-only show, will again be the primary personality on WACA's United broadcasts, providing the color commentary. Dirón will be joined in the booth by long-time Washington area broadcasting fixture and El Salvador native Herbert Baires, who will handle the play-by-play duties for the sixth consecutive season. Wilson Romero, a compatriot of Baires and a panelist on La Mesa Redonda del Fútbol, will be the sideline reporter.

"We are excited that for the second consecutive season, Radio America's broadcasts of D.C. United games will be heard on three Hispanic radio stations", added Radio America President, Alejandro Carrasco. "We are elated that once again we will continue to offer the very first Latino radio network for a soccer team in MLS. We look forward to an exciting season in 2004".
