MONARCHS CALDER CUP FUN FACTS
Denied Access - The Monarchs handed the Bears their first post-season shutout loss since June 1, 2007 when Hershey was blanked 4-0 by the Hamilton Bulldogs. In eight playoff seasons, Manchester has shutout their opponent seven times in 61 games. Monarchs netminder Jonathan Bernier has backstopped nearly half of those shutouts, three to be exact, during the 2010 Calder Cup Playoffs.
King Of The Jungle - Monarchs left wing Dwight King's lone goal in Tuesday's 1-0 shutout of the Bears marks his first game-winning goal of the playoffs. The rookie recorded two game-winning goals during the regular season, both against the Lowell Devils.
Limited Shooting Range - Manchester allowed the fewest shots on goal this post-season to the Bears on Tuesday with only 18 shots getting through to goaltender Jonathan Bernier. Hershey's limited number of shots were only one shy of tying the record for the fewest shots on goal by an opponent in the playoffs as the all-time record is 17 shots by the Worcester IceCats on April 24, 2004. The Monarchs lost that game 6-1.
