All-Star festivities tonight from Connecticut
The Connecticut Defenders will host the Eastern League All-Star game tonight at 7:30 PM from Dodd Stadium in Norwich. Reading's Mike Costanzo, Greg Jacobs, Jesus Merchan, Jason Hill, Matt Maloney and Chris Key will play for the Southern Division Stars. 2B Peeter Ramos has played a total of 37 games this season since joining the team on May 19. In those 37 games, Ramos has a hit in 26 of them and has 11 multi-hit games, including four three-hit games and two four-hit games. He has a hit in seven of his last eight games played and is hitting .310 for the season with 45 H, 6 HR and 21 RBI.
Thou Shall Not Steal
C Tim Gradoville has thrown out 11 of 17 (64.7%) potential base stealers this season. Last season he led Eastern League catchers by throwing out 52.9% (18-34) of base stealers.

The R-Phils are 30-14 this season when scoring the first run and a perfect 37-0 when leading after seven innings.
Pitching Perfection
LHP Allen Davis has thrown eight consecutive hitless, scoreless innings in which he has walked only two and struck out nine. In those three appearances, Davis, the former starter and now reliever, has made one start and recorded a three innings save, which was his first save in his eight year career. In his last 14 innings of work, Davis has allowed only 3 ER on seven hits with three walks and 14 strikeouts. He has seen his ERA drop from 6.11 to 4.76.

On the road again
After the upcoming four game home stand against Harrisburg, the Phillies will hit the road for 10 days, which will take them to Erie for a three-game set, Akron for a four game weekend series and then to Bowie for three to finish up the trip. The last time the Phillies had a road trip of 10 days was July 27 - August 6, 2004 in which they played three in Harrisburg, three in Akron and another four back in Harrisburg. The 2004 team went 4-6 on that road trip.
