The top players in the Eastern League will descend on Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Connecticut tonight at 7:30 PM for the 2007 Eastern League All-Star Game. The All-Star Game will feature the Northern Division All-Stars against the Southern Division All-Stars. Each team will consist of 24 players. The All-Star teams were selected through fan balloting along with selections from media personnel, club field personnel, and Eastern League administrators. Each Eastern League team has at least three players, including at least one pitcher and one position player.
The Sea Dogs will have three representatives participating in the mid-summer classic tonight: Pitcher Charlie Zink, shortstop Jed Lowrie, and outfielder Jeff Corsaletti. Sea Dogs pitcher Clay Buchholz was also selected to the Eastern League All-Star Game. He will not participate due to his participation in the MLB Futures Game and his promotion to Triple-A.
