TONIGHT'S GAME: Is the first of a five game, four day series and the fourth of eight meetings, five at The Diamond. The Braves are 2-1 vs. Ottawa. Richmond was 3-1 vs. the Lynx at The Diamond in 2006. The Braves are 73-72 all-time vs. Ottawa. The 42nd of 46 games vs. North Division clubs and the 21st of 24 at home (Ottawa will be the designated home team in game one of the doubleheader Wednesday due to a rain-out at Ottawa). The Braves are 22-19 vs. the North, 8-12 at home. Richmond has a better than .500 home record against just one North Division club (Rochester). Game seven of an 11 game, 10 day homestand (Richmond is 3-3). The Braves are in first place in the South Division by two and a half games over Durham.

YESTERDAY'S GAME: The Braves lost 7-4 to the Toledo Mud Hens in the completion of their suspended game from Sunday but bounced back to win Monday's scheduled game 4-3 with a run in the last of the ninth. In the suspended contest, Toledo batted around in the top of the first, scoring five runs on just two hits. The Hens tacked on a run in the third on an RBI single by Erick Almonte. The Braves scored twice in the sixth on a home run by Doug Clark and an RBI ground out by Larry Bigbie. Almonte knocked in a run with a single in the eighth to make it 7-2. The Braves tallied twice in the home half. Brandon Jones smashed his first Triple-A home run and Brent Lillibridge knocked in a run with a fielder's choice. Anastacio Martinez earned the win. Kevin Barry took the loss. Aquillino Lopez notched a save. Andres Torres had three hits and Almonte knocked in three runs. In Monday's scheduled game Toledo grabbed a 1-0 lead in the third on an RBI single by Brent Clevlen. Martin Prado knocked in a run with a single in the home half to tie the game at one. Toledo moved back in front 2-1 in the seventh on an RBI single by Jack Hannahan. The Braves answered with two runs in the bottom half. Corky Miller chased a run in with a sacrifice fly and Brent Lillibridge scored on a wild pitch to give the Braves the lead. Hannahan knocked in a run with a single in the ninth to tie the game. In the home half three walks, one intentional, loaded the bases. Prado's line drive was dropped for an error, allowing Doug Clark to score the winning run. Many Acosta picked up the win. AS THE ROSTER TURNS: OF Gregor Blanco has been placed on the Disabled List. LHP Dan Smith has been activated from the DL. INF Barbaro Canizares has been moved from the Restricted List (due to employment paperwork) to the Disabled List and is on a rehab assignment with the GCL Braves. The Braves roster now stands at 24 (13 pitchers, three catchers, five infielders, and three outfielders) with six players on the Disabled List. The Braves have used 50 players this season and have made 85 roster moves in 2007. 11 R-Braves have earned call-ups to Atlanta this season.

WALK-OFF WINS: The Braves beat Toledo twice in the bottom of the ninth in the last four days. Richmond has won seven walk-off games this season. The Braves are 4-2 in their last six one-run games.

FOLLOWING THE LEADERS: The Braves lead the IL in ERA (3.57), shutouts (11), and fewest home runs allowed (61). Richmond is second in steals (101). Martin Prado is third in the league in hitting (.318). Gregor Blanco is tied for third in runs scored (61). Richmond leads the league in fielding percentage (.984) and has the fewest errors (59). Richmond leads the IL in percentage of opposing runners thrown out trying to steal (59- 131 .450). Miller leads the league's catchers caught stealing percentage (36-77 .468).

PAID BY THE HOUR?: The Braves have played four straight three-plus hour games at home for the first time since May 3-6, 2005 (vs. Charlotte and Durham). The Braves are averaging a game time of 3:07 for their 10 home games in July. Seven of the 10 games have taken 3:01 or longer.
