
Top pitching prospects promoted to SWB

In a week already chock full of moves, the Yankees have made two more.
Right hand pitchers Joba (pronounced JAW-buh) Chamberlain and Ian Kennedy were promoted from Double-A Trenton today and are expected to join the starting rotation.
Chamberlain, 21, was selected in the supplemental first round (41st selection overall) of the 2006 first-year player draft by the Yankees. He boasts a 2.72 ERA in 14 starts this season between Class-A Tampa (4-0, 2.03) and Trenton (4-2, 3.43). He ranks third in the Yankees' system with 115 strikeouts. His last start was July 20 @ New Britain.
Kennedy, 22, was also taken in the first round of the 2006 draft (21st overall selection) and has also played for both Tampa and Trenton in 2007. Kennedy is 11-2 between the two teams this year, having gone 6-1 with a 1.29 ERA in 11 games for Tampa and 5-1 with a 2.59 ERA in nine starts for the Thunder. He leads all Yankees' farmhands with 129 strikeouts, tied for first in wins (11) and is 2nd in ERA with a 1.85 mark. He last started July 22 @ New Britain.
To make room on the roster, LHP Chase Wright and RHP Tyler Clippard were optioned to Trenton
