TONIGHT'S GAME: The third of a four game series and the ninth of 12 meetings. The fifth of six meetings at The Diamond. The Braves are 2-6 vs. the Clippers, 1-3 at The Diamond. Game four of a five game homestand (the Braves are 2-1). The Braves were 3-3 at The Diamond vs. the Clippers in the regular season last year and 2-1 in the playoffs. Richmond is 11-22 vs. the West Division, 6-13 at home. The Braves have won five of their last six at home. Richmond is fourth in the South 20 games out of first place. The Clippers are second in the West, five games behind Toledo. Richmond is 335-380 vs. the Clippers. The Braves snapped a five game loosing streak vs. the Clippers last night.

LAST NIGHT'S GAME: The Braves beat the Clippers 11-5 at The Diamond Wednesday night. Roman Colon allowed just one run in seven innings and the Braves banged out 14 hits to snap a five game losing streak vs. the Clippers. The Braves grabbed a 1-0 lead in the second on an RBI triple by Jason Bourgeois. Richmond broke the game open with a five run third inning. John Barnes knocked in a run with a single. Scott Thorman chased a run home with a sacrifice fly. Scott Pratt capped the rally with a three run homer. The Braves tacked on four more in the fourth to make it 10-0. Barnes plated three with a double and James Jurries singled a run home. The Clippers managed a run in the seventh against Colon. J.C. Boscan drove the Braves final run home with a single in the home half. The Clippers touched up the Braves bullpen for a run in the eighth and three in the ninth. Colon picked up the win. Clippers starter Sam Marsonek took the loss. Barnes had three hits and four RBI. Wil Nieves had three hits for the Clippers.

CRUNCHY NUMBERS: Esix Snead leads the IL in stolen bases. Snead is trying to become the third player in IL history to lead the league in steals three straight years. The other two also played in Richmond (Len Johnston of the Virginians who did it 1956-58 and former R-Brave Ed Miller who did it 1978-80). Kerry Robinson, who joined the Braves 6/22, still leads the PCL in steals with 26. Robinson has a seven game hitting streak (10-30 .333). Tony Pena has a seven game hitting streak (11-31 .355). Scott Pratt is 15 for his last 32 (.429). The Braves have made 94 roster moves this season and lost 270 man-games to the disabled list. The Braves have used a total of 46 players this season. J.C. Boscan has reached base in seven straight games. Jason Bourgeois has hits in his last five starts (10-22 .409). . James Jurries has 14 RBI in his last 11 games. Jurries has hits in three straight games and 14 of his last 16. Over his last 16 games he is 21-60 (.350) with five HR and 18 RBI. The Braves are 9-5 since the All Star Break and have averaged over five runs per game in their last 14 contests. The Braves are 8-3 at home since the break. John Barnes four RBI last night equaled a club season high. The Braves hit into a season high four double plays last night.

ROSTER MOVES: The Braves roster now stands at 24 (12 pitchers, two catchers, seven infielders, and three outfielders). Four players are on the DL. Ten Braves have earned big league call-ups this season and four are currently with Atlanta (Brayan Pena, Macay McBride, Kelly Johnson, and John Foster). The other six big league call-ups were Kyle Davies, Roman Colon, Andy Marte, Frank Brooks, Matt Childers, and Seth Greisinger. McBride, Johnson, Davies, Marte, and Pena made their big league debuts this season. 11 members of the Richmond roster had no Triple-A experience prior to this season. Seven R-Braves Braves (Davies, Colon, Marte, Brooks, Childers, Adam Bernero, and Jorge Vasquez) have played in Atlanta this season.
