
Takatsu headed to Charlotte

FORT MILL, SC -- The Chicago White Sox have optioned right-handed pitcher Shingo Takatsu to Class AAA Charlotte. Takatsu, 36, was designated for assignment after going 1-2 with a 5.97 ERA (19 ER/28.2 IP) and eight saves in 31 relief appearances this season. He became the first Japanese-born player to appear with Chicago last season, finishing second in the American League Rookie of the Year voting.
