at

Jamestown Rebels (31-14-8, 70pts.)

Friday

Last night, the Knights pulled away with a 2-0 win over the Rebels. Zach Stejskal made 29 saves for his fifth shutout of the season, while Tyrone Bronte and Jake Fuss each scored in the final 10 minutes of the game after it was 0-0 for the first 50 minutes. With the win, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton moved into fourth place in the NAHL's East Division, getting into a playoff spot for the first time since early January.

Rebel Against The Rebels

After starting the year 0-6 to Jamestown, the Knights began to find their stride against the New York rival since flipping the calendar to 2019. It started with a shootout loss, but in the five meetings from January-March, Wilkes-Barre has gone 3-1-1 against Jamestown.

The Key has been limited scoring chances. Four of the five games played in 2019 have been one or two goal contests. The Knights have suppressed Jamestown to scoring an average 1.8 goals per game. The penalty kill deserves credit as well, killing 16 of 18 man down situations against the Rebels the last 5 outings.

Danchenko Picking Up The Pace

After assisting on the put-away goal Friday, forward Adrian Danchenko has quietly collected 10 points in his last 14 games, dating back to January 25th. The University of Alabama-Huntsville commit was dominant to start the year, earning nine points in his first six games, but by late November Danchenko had cooled off. Now with four goals and six helpers in his last 14, the longest tenured Knight appears geared up for the home stretch of games to help his club make it to the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season.

For What It's Worth

Saturday marks the end to a season long eight game road trip that began on March 1st. The Knights have gone 4-3 in the first seven, and have an overall road record of 13-11-3. At home, the Rebels are 17-9-1.

Of Jake Fuss' 11 goals, nine of them have come since January 19th. He leads Wilkes-Barre in scoring since that date.

Captain Shay Donovan will compete in his 140th NAHL game. Last night, Jamestown's Nick Stuckless skated in his 100th game.

Puck drop is set for 7pm and can be followed along live on HockeyTV.
