
Tomahawks Fall to Northeast 4-3 in Overtime

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Johnstown Tomahawks dropped a close contest in overtime 4-3 to the Northeast Generals Saturday night at New England Sports Village.
Scoring Breakdown:
1st Period Recap
Early on, the Generals controlled the pace of play with extended zone time in the Tomahawks defensive zone.
The Tomahawks killed an early penalty to Chad Merrell to keep it scoreless.
Johnstown managed more offensive time but neither team was able to find the back of the net.

2nd Period Recap
The Generals gained the 1-0 lead at the 12:45 mark of the second period when Brady Gaudette chipped in a rebound past Cooper Lukenda.
Colin Price stormed back for the Tomahawks less than a minute later when he scored his 12th of the season past David Fessenden. Mitch Hale and Alex Wilkins picked up the assists.
However, after an errant pass by the Tomahawks found Liam McCanney, the forward sprung Matt Rutigliano on a breakaway which resulted in a goal for Northeast and a 2-1 lead.

3rd Period Recap:
Johnstown tied the game six minutes into the third period when Carson Brière fired a power play goal home for his 38th of the season. Sam Solensky and Oliver Benwell assisted on the goal.
Northeast regained the lead 3-2 after a marker from Connor Marshall.
The Tomahawks would not quit as Brière tied the game with 13 seconds left in the third period to sent the game to overtime.
Overtime Recap:
The Generals won the game with a power play goal from Ryan Rowland at the 3:40 mark of the extra frame.
