Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes won their tenth straight home game on Thursday night, picking up a run in the bottom of the eighth and another in the bottom of the ninth for a 3-2 walk-off win over the Lake Elsinore Storm.

Preston Mattingly, in his Quakes' debut, turned out to be the hero, as his slow roller to short allowed the winning run to score.

The Quakes loaded the bases against Storm reliever Jason Ray (2-1) with no outs. Angelo Songco led off the inning with a base hit to right and was immediately removed in favor of pinch runner Ramon Jean. Jake Lemmerman followed by laying down a bunt in front of the mound. Ray attempted to get Jean at second, but sailed his throw into center field, allowing runners to reach second and third. An intentional walk to Gorman Erickson loaded the bases. Ray battled, as he struck out Rafael Ynoa on a 3-2 pitch for the first out. Mattingly followed with a slow ground ball to Jeudy Valdez at shortstop. Valdez charged and made an off-balance throw to the plate that was wide of catcher Jason Hagerty, allowing Jean to slide in safely with the winning run.

Quakes' starter JonMichael Redding had a great night on the hill, but didn't get a ton of run support. Tied at 1-1 in the eighth, Redding started to tire, as he walked the lead-off hitter, then hit Wande Olabisi with a pitch, putting two on with nobody out. Josh Walter (3-1) came out of the bullpen and retired the first man he faced, but allowed an RBI single to Valdez, as Olabisi scored to put the Storm up 2-1.

Rancho rallied against Ray in the eighth to tie the game. Pedro Guerrero, who doubled and scored a run for the Quakes in the third, hit a lead-off triple to open the bottom of the eighth. Two batters later, Guerrero scored the game-tying run on Anthony Jackson's sac fly to left, notching the game at 2-2.

Redding allowed two runs on just four hits over seven innings in the no-decision.

Storm starter Andrew Werner was equally impressive, allowing just one run on four hits over seven innings.

Rafael Furcal, making his fifth straight start for the Quakes, drove home Rancho's first-run with an RBI single, finishing 1-for-4.

The Quakes (6-2,44-34) welcome the High Desert Mavericks to The Epicenter on Friday, for the opening game of a three-game series. Arismendy Ozoria (2-4) throws for Rancho, while James Gillheeney (5-3) goes for the visitors.
