Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Visalia, CA - Season-highs in both runs and hits helped the Quakes split their four-game series in Visalia, as the Quakes rolled to a 17-5 victory over the Rawhide on Sunday afternoon at Recreation Park.

After going 21 straight innings without a run earlier in the series, the Quakes scored in their first five innings, taking a 15-2 lead in the fifth and cruising to a second straight win.

The offense posted some incredible numbers, as all nine starters recorded at least one hit and one RBI, while eight of the nine starters scored at least one run.

Quakes' starter Jarret Martin (4-6) benefitted from all the offense, but struggled a bit over five innings. The left-hander allowed four runs on six hits, walking a season-high eight batters on the day.

Jonathan Garcia (13) and Pedro Guerrero (1) both homered and combined to finish with nine hits and seven RBIs.

Visalia starter Kyle Schepel (2-5) was rocked for 12 runs on ten hits over just 3 2/3 innings.

Rancho (30-33) is now five games back of first-place Lancaster with seven games to go in the first half. The Quakes will travel to Lake Elsinore on Monday for a 6:05pm affair. James Campbell (1-3) will throw for the Quakes, while the Storm will counter with Colin Rea (0-4).

After the conclusion of this seven-game road trip, the Quakes will return to LoanMart Field on Thursday, June 13th, taking on the Stockton Ports for a four-game series. Thursday night is another Thirsty Thursday, with $2 16-oz domestic beers and $2 24-oz Pepsi products. Game time is 7:05pm and tickets are available by calling (909) 481-5000 or online at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you very soon at LoanMart Field. Go Quakes!
