Visalia Rawhide News Release
VISALIA - It just wasn't their day. That's the only way to put it. The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes were all over the Visalia Rawhide from the get go, as the 'Hide lost 17-5 on Sunday afternoon at Rawhide Ballpark.
The Quakes blasted Rawhide starter Kyle Schepel, putting up crooked numbers in each of the first five innings. Darnell Sweeney and Jon Garcia were a home run and a triple away from the cycle, respectively, and eight of the nine starters scored at least one time.
With the loss, the Rawhide fall to 4.0 games back of San Jose for first place, and 1.0 game back of Stockton in the division standing, as each of their division foes picked up a win on Sunday afternoon.
The Rawhide will hit the road on Monday for a three game series in Bakersfield before returning home to face the San Jose Giants for four games to round out the first half.
