Winless Road Trip Ends with 5-3 Loss

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Joe Sclafani drove in two runs to tie the game with a two-out single in the top of the seventh but the San Jose Giants took the lead right back and handed the JetHawks their seventh straight loss, 5-3.

With Tyler Heineman at third and Delino DeShields at second base, Joe Sclafani hit a line drive base hit to right field to bring both runners home.

In the bottom of the seventh, Brady Rodgers (5-3) hit Brock Bond with the first pitch of the inning and then Chris Lofton followed with a bunt up the first base line. First baseman Telvin Nash fielded the ball but hesitated to underhand to first base allowing Lofton to reach with a bunt single.

Rodgers struck out the Giants home run leader Angel Villalona but Devin Harris followed with a double down the left field line to score both runners and put the Giants back on top.

Reliever Bryce Bandilla shut the JetHawks down in order in the eighth and closer Josh Osich pitched a perfect ninth inning to finish the game and pick up his seventh save.

Reliever Luis Rojas (6-3) picked up the win for San Jose.

Mac Wiliamson blasted his second home run of the series off starter Chris Devenski in the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie and give the Giants the lead. Williamson finished the series with 10 RBI and five runs scored.

He started the scoring in the second inning when he led off with a single and stole second base. Bobby Haney singled with two outs to drive him in and give San Jose a 1-0 lead.

The JetHawks ted the game in the third when Andrew Aplin hit a fly ball to right field with the bases loaded to score Matt Duffy. With two outs and the bases loaded, Preston Tucker flew out to the warning track in right field to end the inning.

Tucker, who was named the Cal League Offensive Player of the Week last week ended the seven game road trip without an RBI.

Lancaster was swept for the second straight series and dropped all seven games, three in Stockton and four in San Jose, on their road trip.

The JetHawks (35-28) head home to take on the High Desert Mavericks on Monday night at 7:00 pm for Make a Difference Monday. David Rollins (5-3, 3.61) will pitch for Lancaster.
