Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Fresno, CA - The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes were quieted on Wednesday evening, as the Fresno Grizzlies earned a 7-0 shutout over Rancho at Chukchansi Park.

Four Fresno pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout, as Rancho was blanked for just the second time this year.

Eddys Leonard had two hits, while Jonny DeLuca collected the other, as Rancho didn't have many scoring opportunities on Wednesday.

Fresno starter Andrew DiPiazza went the first 3.2 innings, while reliever Keegan James (3-0) earned the win and retired 12 of 13 batters over four scoreless innings.

Fresno clobbered three homers on the night, including a two-run blast from Grant LaVigne, which gave Fresno an early 2-0 lead on Quakes' starter Kendall Williams (1-1), who would be removed after just one inning due to the excessive 100-degree heat in Fresno.

The Quakes (25-24) are now just a game and a half up on second-place Lake Elsinore, who defeated Inland Empire on Wednesday night. Rancho will send Carlos Duran (1-1) to the mound on Thursday, as he'll take on lefty Breiling Eusebio (4-0). Game three on Thursday will begin at 6:50pm.

On Tuesday, July 6th, the Quakes return to LoanMart Field for another Temblores Tuesday. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com.
