Quad City Steamwheelers Sign Wide Receiver CJ Windham

The Quad City Steamwheelers, defending Champions of the IFL's Eastern Conference, have signed former Middle Tennessee State wide receiver C.J. Windham.

From 2016-2021 at Middle Tennessee State University, Windham caught 107 passes for 1,329 yards and 13 touchdowns. During his final NCAA season, Windham was voted a Team Captain.

Director of Player Personnel Ryan Michael told SteamwheelersFootball.com: "C.J. comes into camp with 6 years of NCAA D1 experience. He made play, after play, after play at MTSU. What stood out to me was his ability to make plays as both a blocker and as a receiver. He's not afraid to fight in the trenches and as a receiver, his burst off the line of scrimmage, internal sense of down and distance, leaping ability and soft hands make him a force to be reckoned with. I can't wait to see what he brings to camp."

In college, Windham produced 25 games with multiple receptions, including 11 games with 4+ receptions.

Windham will join a talented receiving corps that includes teammates Mike Carrigan, Jarrod Harrington, Isaiah Grice, Londell Lee, John Brunner, Damien King and John Williams.

"When you watch his film you can't help but be excited about his style of play! He can run every route and he catches every ball thrown his way. He was a Captain on his team and graduated with honors. We are excited to see what he brings to training camp" said Steamwheelers Head Coach Cory Ross.
