Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - The National Lacrosse League announced Monday that Mammoth players Gavin Prout and Jay Jalbert have been selected to the starting lineup for the West Division All-Star team.

The 2006 NLL All-Star Game will be played at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Saturday, Feb. 25. The game will be broadcast on Altitude Sports & Entertainment at 4:30 p.m. Mountain time.

Prout will make his third consecutive appearance in the All-Star Game and second start. Jalbert will also make his third consecutive All-Star Game appearance and will start the game for the first time.

"These guys have worked hard and played extremely well this season," Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. "Having two of our players in the starting lineup of the All-Star Game is a tribute to our entire team."

Prout, who leads the Mammoth with 12 goals and 24 assists, will join Craig Conn of Arizona and Tracey Kelusky of Calgary on the West's starting forward line. Jalbert, currently the NLL's highest-scoring defenseman with eight goals, will start on the back line with rookie Brodie Merrill of Portland. San Jose's Anthony Cosmo has earned his second consecutive All-Star start in goal.

The 12 reserves for the West and East teams will be announced on Tuesday. Each All-Star team will have a total of 18 players, and all 11 NLL teams will be represented.

The West and East Division All-Star teams were determined by the combined votes of the league's general managers, league media, and fans, who voted online at the league's official Web site. The votes of each of the three groups weighed equally in determining the starting lineups.

The West Division All-Stars will be coached by Arizona Sting coach Bob Hamley with Calgary Roughnecks coach Chris Hall serving as his assistant. The East Division All-Stars will be coached by Rochester Knighthawks coach Ed Comeau with Philadelphia Wings coach Lindsay Sanderson serving as his assistant.
