San Angelo Colts News Release
San Angelo, TX - Foster Field will be the place to be this week as the Colts kick-off a four-game series with the Rio Grande Valley White Wings tonight at 7:05. Each night, the Colts will be holding several promotional events that are sure to bring large crowds to the Field.
Tonight's highlight event will be the Diamond Dig presented by Legend Jewelers. A lucky female fan will win herself a diamond pendant, which will be buried somewhere in the infield dirt. Participants will then have to dig into the infield dirt to find the prize. It should be noted that ONLY FEMALE fans18 or over may participate. The Dig will take place following tonight's game.
Also, this evening will be Chamber Night presented by the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce. Furthermore, as with every Tuesday, tonight is $2 Tuesday presented by Budweiser as general admission seating, select concessions, and parking will only be $2 throughout the evening.
Wednesday will be Sure-Win Wednesday sponsored by Sherwin Williams. If the Colts don't win that night's game all fans in attendance will receive free admission to the next Wednesday home game on August 4 against Laredo. In addition, Wednesday's game will be preceded by a Youth Clinic courtesy of Wal-Mart as Colts players and coaches will teach members of Casey's Kids Club the skills and fundamentals to become better baseball players. Gates open at 4:45 for participants and their parents while the clinic should run from 5-6. It should be noted that you MUST be a member of Casey's Kids Club to participate in the clinic.
Thursday will be the night of the Pink Bat Auction presented by Cisco Equipment. In support of the fight against breast cancer, Colts players will use pink bats during that evening's game. Afterwards, all of the bats will be auctioned off on the field with the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
As usual, Thursday will also be Thirsty Thursday sponsored by Miller Lite as all draft beers will cost $1 throughout the evening.
To wrap things up, Friday will be Cap Night courtesy of Shannon Medical Center as the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a free San Angelo Colts baseball cap. Also,, a large crowd is expected as Friday will also be Tom Green County Night. All fans and businesses of Tom Green County are invited to purchase general admission tickets at 1/2 price for only $3 while tickets last. To be a sponsor, business owners must purchase 10 or more tickets to be a part of the evening.
Again, all four games will be against the Rio Grande Valley White Wings with the first pitches set for 7:05. All games can be heard on 1260 KKSA with the broadcast getting underway with the Kemps' Pregame Show at 6:50.
