San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, TX - The San Angelo Colts adjusted their roster today by placing injured starting pitcher Alex Morales on the inactive list and signing pitcher Matt Carter.

Morales pulled a ribcage muscle during Sunday's game against Rio Grande Valley. While with the Colts, Alex had attained an 0-1 record with a 10.20 ERA in five starts.

Carter joins the Colts after he was released by the Shreveport-Bossier Captains of the American Association earlier this year. The rookie went 1-0 in eight relief appearances for Shreveport-Bossier after finishing his senior season at William Carey University. As a senior, Carter struck out 67 while walking only 24 in 62.2 innings and holding opponents to a .259 batting average.

A four-year letter-winner at William Carey, Carter is a native of DeFuniak Springs, TX.

The Colts open a four-game series tonight at Foster Field with the Rio Grande Valley White Wings. First pitch is set for 7:05 as Ezekiel Astacio (3-3, 5.40) will go for the Colts against David Cross (1-5, 5.73) of the White Wings. The game can be heard on 1260 KKSA with the Kemps Pre-Game Show getting things underway at 6:50.

Tuesday will also be $2 Tuesday presented by Budweiser as tickets, parking and select concessions will be only $2. Also, Tuesday's game will be the night of the Diamond Dig presented by Legend Jewelers as one lucky fan will win a diamond pendant. Furthermore, the game against Rio Grande will serve as Chamber Night courtesy of the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce.
