Promotions Aplenty as Barons Welcome Stars to Regions Field

Birmingham, AL - The Barons return to Regions Field on Wednesday, August 6th to begin a five-game series against the Huntsville Stars, the Double-A Affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The homestand kicks-off with AAA Wednesday where AAA cardholders can receive $2 off admission by showing their card at the Joe Drake Ticket Office at Regions Field.

Thursday's game features a special 8:05 PM start time as the Barons and Stars will be broadcast nationally as part of the CBS Sports Network' Game of the Week. It is the first Barons game to be broadcast nationally since the Jordan Season in 1994. Fan can enjoy 16 oz. beverages for just $2 as part of Thirsty Thursday presented by Miller Lite, Woodbridge and Buffalo Wild Wings. There will also be a special pre-game concert in the Regions Field Courtyard featuring 'Sanyasi' starting at 6:00 PM. The Thirsty Thursday concert series is presented by Birmingham Mountain Radio and Tin Roof. Gates will open at 6:00 PM.

The weekend begins on Friday with an Adult Jersey giveaway to the first 1,000 adults in attendance courtesy of Regions. It's also football kickoff night at Regions Field where are encouraged to show their college football and NFL allegiance by wearing the gear of their favorite team. Alabama's Big Al, Auburn's Aubie and UAB's Blaze will be on hand for the festivities and Auburn Radio Broadcaster Rod Bramblett will be on hand to throw out the first pitch and sign autographs during the game.

There will be no Friday Night Fireworks Friday because Saturday will feature the season's biggest fireworks show with Pyro-Palooza VII presented by VisionFirst Eye Center and the US Air Force. The first 500 kids in attendance will receive a Back to School backpack with piggy bank courtesy of Regions Bank. Saturday is also Star Wars Night and will feature visits from iconic characters from the legendary movie series. In addition, one lucky fan will win a grill during the game courtesy of All-South Appliance. There will be a special pre-game concert in the Regions Field Courtyard featuring 'The Heavy Harts' as part of the Saturday Concert Series presented by Good People Brewery. Saturday is also Church Night featuring special group pricing for area Church groups. Lastly, Saturday is also YP Night at Regions Field.

The homestand concludes with Salute To Armed Forces Sunday presented by DRASH and NAPA where the Barons will wear special camouflage uniforms as they pay tribute to the men and women of the United States armed forces. Prior to the game there will be a special Babe Ruff's Kids Club member only Youth Clinic with Barons players and coaches. Gates open at 12:45 PM and the clinic will run from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM. Following the clinic, players will sign autographs for each participant. You must be signed up for the Kids Club by Saturday, August 9th to be eligible for the clinic.
