Promotions & Playoff Tickets At Foster Field

San Angelo Colts News Release


San Angelo, TX-Foster Field will play host to several great promotional nights this week as the Colts enter the second-half of their eight-game homestand, which runs through this Friday.

Tonight the Colts will wrap-up their four-game series with the Edinburg Roadrunners at 7:05 PM. Tonight will be the customary Margarita Monday presented by MDX 106.1 FM as margaritas will be served for only $2 throughout the evening.

A sellout crowd of 4,200 is expected on Tuesday as the Colts will host Free Admission Night and $2 Tuesday courtesy of Budweiser. The Colts will open the gates, free of charge, to all fans while parking, bottled beer, soda, hot dogs, and popcorn will only cost $2 throughout the evening. Tuesday's game will open a four-game series with the Laredo Broncos who will be making their first and only visit to Foster Field this season

Wednesday will be Sherwin Williams Sure-Win Wednesday. If the Colts don't win, all fans in attendance will receive a coupon for free admission to the next Wednesday home game on August 18 against Edinburg. There will aslo be a Youth Clinic sponsored by Wal-Mart, which is open to all Casey's Kids Club members and runs from 5-6 PM. Gates will open for the Youth Clinic at 4:45 PM to participants and their parents. Please note that the clinic is free to all kids.

Thursday will be the night of the Jersey Auction sponsored by Concho Valley Partnership. The Colts will wear Hawaiian jerseys during that evening's game, which are to be auctioned off afterwards. All proceeds from the auction will go to Concho Valley Partnership. As usual, Thurday will also be Thirsty Thursday at Foster Field with all draft beers on sale for only $1 courtesy of Miller Lite.

The Colts will then complete their homestand on Friday, August 6 with Willie Stargell Bobblehead Night. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a Willie Stargell bobblehead doll courtesy of West Central Wireless. Stargell began his professional career in San Angelo in 1959 playing for the Class D San Angelo Pirates of the Sophomore League in the Pittsburgh organization. Pops, as he was affectionately known, has the distinction of being the only Hall of Famer to have played in San Angelo. Stargell went on to a 21-year career with the Pittsburgh Pirates garnering a career .282 batting average with 475 HRs and 1540 RBI. He won two World Series with the Pirates and is the only player to have won the National League's regular season, League Championship Series and World Series MVPs all in the same season (1979). He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in1988.

August 6 will also be Irion County/Big Lake Night.

The Colts are expected to surpass the 80,000 attendance mark tonight against Edinburg and 90,000 by the end of the homestand. The team has a chance to set the second-highest attendance mark in franchise history, which stands at 119,139 from the 2001 season. The number one season was the inaugural year of 2000 when Foster Field drew 150,770 fans.

In other news, playoff ticket packages have officially gone on sale to Colts season-ticket-holders. The package is $45 for box seats for a total of five games. Single-game playoff tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning August 16.

The Colts take on the Edinburg Roadrunners tonight at 7:05. Bryan Heaston (2-1, 6.46 ERA) will go for San Angelo against Mark DiBernardo (5-4, 4.68 ERA) of Edinburg. The broadcast of the game begins at 6:50 with the Kemps' Pregame Show and can be heard on 1260 KKSA.
