Texas AirHogs News Release
WINNIPEG, MB - The Texas AirHogs dropped the second of a three-game set in Winnipeg by a final of 8-2 Wednesday. Correlle Prime went deep, and Chen Junpeng picked up an RBI base hit, but Texas could not overcome a large early deficit.
Yang Yanyong, Lu Yusong, and Qi Xin combined for five innings of scoreless relief. The trio gave up just one hit after starter Sun Jianzeng was tagged for eight runs on nine hits in three innings. A six-run second powered by homers from Tyler Baker, Reggie Abercrombie and Tucker Nathans helped Winnipeg put the game out of reach early.
JC Sulbaran (1-2) was perfect on the mound through five for the Goldeyes before Luan Chenchen broke up his bid for history with a base hit in the sixth. Thomas slammed a double to lead off the seventh before scoring on an RBI base hit from Chen Junpeng. Prime added a late homer in the ninth. The blast was his fifth of the season.
Winnipeg (28-36) was paced by Abercrombie, whose three-run homer in the second boosted him to eight RBIs for the series. The Goldeyes outhit the AirHogs 10-5.
