
Pries Back With Generals Monday

Jackson Generals News Release
Mobile, Ala. - The Seattle Mariners announced a roster move Monday affecting the Double-A Jackson Generals prior to the team's 6:35 pm CT against the Mobile BayBears. Right-hander pitcher Jordan Pries rejoins the Generals from Extended Spring Training, while righty Kyle Schepel has been transferred from Jackson to Class A Advanced Bakersfield. Pries is slated to start Monday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Pries, 26, started the season with Jackson, striking out 16 and walking just two in 11 innings of work. In his season debut, Pries retired all 11 men he faced and struck out five April 8 against Montgomery. He moved to Tacoma after four outings, going 0-1 with an 8.10 ERA in four appearances with Seattle's Triple-A affiliate.
The right-hander spent all of 2015 with Tacoma, going 7-4 with a 5.20 ERA in 16 PCL Starts. Pries was drafted by Seattle in the 30th round of the 2011 MLB Draft out of Stanford.
Schepel, 25, is coming off his first two outings in Double-A. With the Generals, the Michigan native pitched 3.1 scoreless innings while allowing two hits and three walks. He started the season with Bakersfield, going 3-1 with a 1.76 ERA over 11 outings in the California League.
Jackson's roster currently stands at 25 active players with three on the disabled list. Pries will wear No. 48 with the Generals.

Pries (1-1, 6.55) is expected to start Monday against Mobile left-hander Anthony Banda (2-2, 2.89).
